long time, no blog
i'm just back from the crim meetings in atlanta -- more on that later. while there, however, many old and new friends inquired about the lad's state football tournament run. alas, his mounds view 'stangs lost a tough contest to a somewhat freakishly similar (wing-t/tough-d) eastview team. it was a fine run, however, and #71 is gearing up for another state tourney run in wrestling.

I actually looked this up online a few days ago, and then felt vaguely like a football blog-stalker.
thanks, jeremy. the lads fought well against a comparable team, but came up a bit short. hats off to the eastview fans and their kick-butt band. sadly, eastview was slaughtered 30-0 by eden prairie --a freakishly well-organized team, coached by bud grant's son and qb'ed by his grandson. said dynasty will face the scary-good cretin raiders in a battle o' the titans prep bowl championship at the dome on friday.
tonight, the lad was quite upset with the new england patriots for running up the score. after he described what it was like to be on the other side of such a drubbing, i had a better appreciation of football norms and karmic justice. operationally, this would seem to involve a non-life-threatening-yet-career-ending-kneecap-related injury for mr. tom brady.
