closed-circuit to my advisees

here's an all-too-revealing clip from amy conner, contexts managing editor. i'm not familiar with mitchell and webb, but they must've done some time as my graduate advisees. you want some clear direction on that research prospectus or thesis proposal?

this is hysterical... i'm not touching the prelim/prospectus/diss thing (too soon) but i do recall conversations like this as your RA. i would ask how to prioritze 5 or 6 tasks that needed to be completed in a short period of time, we would talk for an hour, i would leave your office remaining clueless.

i just figured it was strategy on your part to get me to do all of the above -- if so, it worked. i'm now doing this to my own students. thanks, man.

Yeah, very true sara, but where else can I go for baseball analysis, highschool wrestling updates, and upcoming concert info?

I mean, if I wanted to be getting stuff done, I'd probably be off doing that stuff in the first place...

hey, maybe good-natured incomprehensibility actually fosters creativity. i mean, not that but something like that.

OMG, I'm afraid this is all too close to home.
